Kema Renee
Hilo Hawaii -> Brooklyn, NY
From a young age, she has delved into various interdisciplinary studies, including acting, poetry, music, film, and design. She utilizes all skills to her advantage as they have been constants in her upbringing, whether it was selling handmade jewelry or tailoring her friend's clothes, she has a drive to consistently create and embrace the world around her.
She started attending Pratt Institute School of Arts majoring in Film/ Video production. During her time studying, she has written and directed NecroNancy, Vampires of the East Coast, and Don’t Look Back. Additionally, she worked as a student documentary filmmaker for Sidelights+.
Many of her inspirations come from human nature and the karmic cycles of extreme emotions and their impact on modern psychology and philosophy. Having an interest in psychology and philosophy, she creates work that allows personal interpretations of the moral and psychological. Her work combines this with her other creative fields of fashion design and aesthetics to bring the visually eccentric to life.
